Directly from my small farm, these whole dried cayenne peppers pack a spicy punch. Made from dried hot red chili peppers, cayenne pepper is a medium-hot seasoning usually rated at 30,000 to 50,000 Scoville units, making it a versatile ingredient in cuisines worldwide.

The peppers may come whole or chopped, depending on availability, with no guarantees. However, I can assure you that each batch is hand-harvested, dried, and packaged in resealable airtight bags, with each bag individually labeled.

Cayenne pepper is the ripened, dried pod of the Capsicum Frutescens plant, belonging to the capsicum family of spices that includes sweet bell peppers, paprika, and jalapeños. When "heat" is desired, the dried pepper can be used ground or whole, providing an orange-red to deep-red color and a distinct, bold flavor.
